The Wholesome Satyr

हादसा था गुज़र गया होगा
किसके जाने की बात करते हो
~ जावेद कुरेशी...

I wonder if anyone has visited here since I have been gone, or if I was missed - or even thought of. Or like the muse of this couplet:

ज़िक्र मेरा सुना तो चिढ के कहा
किस दीवाने की बात करते हो

I am listening to her words, its delicate cadence, its raw sensuality, its trained perfection; and all I can think of is if I lay in a grave somewhere, someday, this is what I would like to have inscribed on the tombstone. I know I will not and I know she will sing for me. Not in this lifetime; not even if I was to transcend unceremoniously to the great beyond.

And I know you have not been here too.
